Inconsistent image size outside in inside PS CC

Hello guys

I have a weird problem with my image size changing on display. For example, this is an image on my website:

I copy the image of the credit car icon and preview it on my mac:

Looks fine and it's a 1:1 size as seen on the website,( even tho the screenshot here appear a little bigger)
Now, when I open that image in photoshop, it appear super tiny, even tho the zoom in the bottom left hand
says it's 100%. If I zoom it to the actual size by about 250%, it has the size as it should but becomes pixelated.

Any idea how can I correct that? I don't have that problem on my 2015 iMac and Mac Pro. This only happens

on my new 15" Macbook Pro 2017.

Any ideas much appreciated.

best regards

Sebastian

HI Sebastian,

I was having a similar problem.... so your NEW Macbook Pro I reckon has a RETINA Display that you paid extra for (I did too!)

In Photoshop that retina display is able to display a lot more pixels at 100% so everything seems smaller because its loading Photoshop in a Higher Resolution.

If you want to see your images in normal display(and matching display of your browser, etc) then you can go to the Applications Folder, find the Photoshop application and press "Command I" to get info. A

At the top of the dialogue box that opens up you will see a checkbox that says "Open in Low Resolution".  You can check that box. Then you can quit Photoshop and reopen it, and your Photoshop will now be in low resolution and you may also see the difference in sharpness on your screen display since Retina will now be unused.

Hope that helps!

Ok.. I am confused now.

I have an imac 5k running at full resolution (5120x2880).

But when I create a NEW 5120px wide image at 100% it is not full monitor width like it should be.

How come ?? Als aftereffects has the same problem.
