Integrated graphics and Photoshop

I am runing a Windows 10 Home PC which is about 12 years old. I have had various 'repairs / replacements' over that time it now has an AMD Ryzen 5 3600 6-Core, 3.59 GHz processor with 16GB of RAM but importantly the original graphics card remains. I can no longer run the latest PS updates because the PC crashes if I install. It's not  major problem for what I do but I feel as if I am 'missing out.' I have delayed installing a new graphics because of the cost, although I know cost is now coming down. Recently I spotted a mini PC which is reviewed as being super fast as well as being quite small (aimed at gaming). It is made by Geekom with Asus components and has an AMD Ryzen 6800H  processor which includes integrated AMD Radeon™ Graphics 680M. Other details are: Memory - Dual-channel DDR5-4800 SODIMM (up to 32GB) and storage - 2 x M.2 2280 PCIe Gen 4x4 SSD , supports up to 2TB (NVMe) and space for a 1 x 2.5”7mm SATA HDD (supports up to 2TB). I have always understood that Photoshop does not like integrated graphics, is this still the case, especially if I chose the 32GB option.

The alternative wouldbe to install a new graphics card in my old pC now that prices are settling down. 

Much of what is writen above is copied...I am 78 years old and now starting be be a bit 'challenged' by technology.

Photoshop is moving more and more functionality toward the GPU which is therefore more important than it was in past years.

Recommended is a GPU with Direct X 12 support and 4GB GPU RAM.

Integrated GPUs can fall down in that they share RAM with the main system as opposed to having dedicated video RAM.

For a new PC I would be looking for a dedicated GPU e.g. an NVidia 3xxxx. It does not have to be at the highest end of that range, an RTX 3050 is relatively inexpensive, as GPUs go, and would exceed the current recommended requirements

Dave is entirely right. Hardware requirements have increased substantially in recent years, and in particular the GPU.

This caught many customers off guard, reflected in a lot of complaints here in the forum from users with budget/ low end machines: it used to work and now it doesn't, so Photoshop must be "buggy".

This probably happened because all the new mobile apps were intended to take over the "casual" market segment. So this freed up Photoshop to pursue the high end, and take full advantage of new technologies. Currently, these are mostly GPU-based.

1. Requirments of 4 GB of GPU memory for 4k+ displays and greater

1.5-2Gb for mid class /1920 x 1080 ~ works is ok.

2. Integrated video - especially like AMD
AMD Ryzen 6900hx / 6800H/HS - Rembrandt 680M - DDR4
or 7640/7940/7840 ~ Phoenix - 760/780M  (768 shaders) with DDR5 (equal to 1080ti) 
+ it has advantage shorter lines & integrated graphics is fast for average non  regular work it absulutely ok. 

for Professional 8+hr work day by day, sure 2080/3060 or RX5700/6500 is better.
