P: (Oct) Photoshop iPad v6.6.1 crashes on iPad OS 17.7.10

Photoshop crashes after launch start. I use this for work and have already lost out on a lot of wage because of this! I've tried all updates restarts, I have enough storage and latest iPad update too. Ive heard this happened before and took a few weeks to fix. All my clients work is on this so I can't afford to not be able to use it.

Hello. I am having trouble opening photopshop, i click it and it doesnt open, but when itry other adobe apps it opens, i tried redownloading it but it doesnt work. Please help

Hi @christan_4789 try doing a preference reset when you start up. Hold Shift+Alt+Ctrl (win) or Shift+Opt+Cmd (mac) when you try to launch  it should ask if you want to reset/remove preferences. Say yes.

Photoshop isn't opening on my iPad (7th generation) I literally used it earlier today and all worked fine. This happened in June and took a while to fix but I need to use my iPad and Photoshop for uni work. Whenever I click the app it closes straight away.

I am having the same issue. Photoshop was working fine last night, then when I tried to open it this morning it crashed immediately. I tried restarting my iPad, as well as uninstalling and reinstalling Photoshop, and it is still crashing. It is the latest version, 6.6.1. I have enough storage space on my iPad. I am illustrating large scale graphics and need this app in order to complete my client work! I am using a 2nd generation iPad Pro, iPadOS Version 17.7.10.

I'm having the same issue, even after did the creative cloud cleaner tool. Manage to launch it once, after that it keeps closing after the splash screen. Happen to both photoshop & photoshop beta. It happen only recently. Have to uninstall & reinstall everytime. When it is closed, it doesn't load anymore.

Definitely an update issue. This happened June/July time and took several weeks for a new update to come out to fix this. Hopefully this time it's sooner but aworkihg as self employed I'm losing so much clientele work pay etc. Frustrating as I also don't know if I need to reschedule clients.

Is iOS 17.7.10 the final version of iPadOS supported on your devices? If possible, try updating the iPad and check how it goes.

Yes, iOS 17.7.10 is the latest version my iPad can support. I'm not able to update it to any later version.

Yes mine is also updated and highest it can be. I have said in my original reply I have tried every delete re-download restart , checked my storage etc. This surely must have to do with the newest update and I would really appreciate if we were given updates for when this will be resolved. I am losing clients on this as previously mentioned and can't afford to wait weeks.

@Dennis_Ong does your computer meet the minimum system requirements? Specifically looking at available HD space on the C drive and available (not total) RAM. https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/system-requirements.html

It was running fine until a weeks ago or so then it stop running. I'm having 480GB of free space (SSD).  With 16GB of RAM and 6GB of GPU. Now it only runs randomly (Photoshop 26.11) but Beta is still not running.

Hi, I'm also having the exact issue! It was fine yesterday, but when I tried opening PS on Ipad now, it keeps crashing out. I also have the newest software update (17.7.10) and the newest version of PS (6.6.1).

On October 9, 2025, my second generation iPad just updated to IOS 17.7.10 and Photoshop will no longer open, again. As with the bug earlier this year, the opening splash screen appears, closes, and goes back to my main screen. What’s the fix?

 

Previous Issue: Photoshop app no longer opens and runs on my iPad. When I click on the icon, it splashes and then goes back to my menu screen. Disappointing since I use Lightroom and Photoshop frequently on my iPad. Please fix ASAP. I deleted the app and reinstalled it, but that did not help.

Could you let us know which version of Photoshop on iPad you're using? Also, when the splash screen appears, does it always freeze while loading something specific?
If you're able to send us a short video showing the app trying to open, freezing, and then closing, that would really help us take a closer look.

Having the same issue. Was able to use PS on my iPad for a few minutes this morning, but it has been crashing at launch for the last several hours. Hard restarted iPad, deleted and reinstalled application, and checked for iOS software updates. Plenty of storage space on the iPad and just cleared out my creative cloud storage to no avail.

Hi @Aleke ...I'm having the same issue. It was working fine yesterday and today it crashes as soon as I try to open PS on my ipad. I had this same issue a few months ago and it took daysss to fix. Please help. Last time we had to submit a crash log or something like that

Hi @Sameer K ...I'm having the same issue AGAIN. We had this a few months ago and now again 😞  ..please help! Last time the employee helping asked for some sort of crash log.

Yes, this happened a few months ago...

I'm on iPad OS 17.7.10. I open the app, and it shows the loading screen for a moment, then crashes. I have done all that I can, restarted the iPad, still the same issue

Hi I have the iPad 6th gen, iOS 17 and the app will not launch, it just automatically closes the second the photoshop screen shows. Any suggestions? I've done all the updates possible- free'd up lots of space and restarted .

@Aleke I'm not sure of the numeric version of Photoshop for iPad I am using, but there is no update showing for me in the Apple App Store, so I assume I am running the most recent version.  I did attach a screen recording, as requested.  Thank you!
