Last week, around November 21, I started having issues with jpeg files in Photoshop 25.2 on Windows 11. When I 'Save a Copy' as a jpeg file, the file will not show a proper thumbnail in Windows Explorer. The thumbnail does show at medium icon size, but not at large or extra large. See attached image. Also, I can open the file in Windows Photos and re-save it from there to get the thumbnail, but nothing saved directly from Photoshop displays correctly. I went to file handling under preferences and changed the maximize file compatibility setting to 'always' as suggested in another post. This did not fix the issue. I also tried to downgrade my Photoshop versions to 25.1 and then 25.0, thinking it was an update issue. This still did not fix the problems. I will mention that I had the 25 beta version on my computer and recently removed it.

Hi @douglast40741261, I had this problem (using Windows 10) when I had both the Beta and Public releases installed. Here's what fixed it for me after removing Beta.
In Bridge, under Preferences > File Type Associations, check how you have the file types set. Also, deliberately select “Choose another app” after right-clicking on a JPG file that's missing the icon. Then select Adobe Photoshop 2024 and check the box for “Always use this app…” to see if that fixes it for you, too.
