Lasso tool and copy command

New Here ,
Aug 06, 2018 Aug 06, 2018

On Photoshop, the lasso let's me use it the first time then I copy and paste it. When I use it the second time it says, could not complete the copy command because the selected area is empty. What am I doing wrong? Please no abbreviations when answering back, I'm a newbie!

Thanks,

Linda

Hi

Linda. The lasso tool shows the outline of your selection. To copy, you also need to ensure that you have a layer selected in the layers panel that has pixels, as opposed to transparency, within that selected area.
