Hi, I would like to buy a used Photoshop CS4 from an auction. What are the steps?
When I buy the software the owenr deactivate it by clicking in the programme and after sending me the DVD and license key I simply install it with the key, register the softwer and thats all? The softwer is now registered to the seller. After desactivation will it be still registered to him or deactivation clears it and I will be able to activate it and register to myself? The seller says that the CS4 is not visable in his Adobe ID only his new subscribed software.
Is the date, when the servers for Photoshop CS4 are shut down, known? Are any solutions for owners of the software planned to be able to use/reistal it after the shutting down?
Thank you.
Hi
Activation servers for CS4 and below have been shut down

If you don't want to subscribe to the Creative Cloud you can buy Photoshop Elements for a once off purchase

@MarekMularczyk CS4 cannot be activated full stop, the activation servers are no longer in existence, as in dead, gone, never to return.

Don't! You'll end up with a useless CD. As outlined, you'll never be able to activate it.

Hi,
This is a tricky question because Adobe don't support CS4 anymore. You need to be very careful when buying.
Maybe consider Photoshop Elements?

Thank you for your answers. Are you sure that the activations servers are shut down also for separate Photoshop CS4 not only for the cs4 suite? The seller claims tha he managed to install the program, deactivate it He also registered it when installing for the second time. He uses new suite via subscription so he doesn't need the old software.

"Are you sure that the activations servers are shut down"
It's mentioned in the link I posted above, it includes all versions of CS4

I know this statement. But Suite is not an Adobe Photoshop CS4 separate program. Or the seller doesnt tell the true?

The seller is not telling the truth, if you do decide to buy it, you'll have the luxury of the 30 day trial version, after that you can kiss your money goodbye 😉
Even if you could activate it, the seller would have to transfer the licence to you anyway.

How do you know if you can trust the seller?
CS4 is not avalable for sale officially.

The programs were to have a lifetime guarantee. Once the servers are shut down, they cannot be reinstalled. So who can you trust?

Yes, they were supposed to.... but since adobe switched to subscription model, this doesn't apply anymore...
Sorry, Marcin...

What lifetime guarantee and who's life?

If the servers are shut down, So how the seller could manage to install the program today and deactivate it and install for the second time and register it?

They are trying to rip you off!
I don’t know if you are purposely trying not to understand this, or if you are really struggling with it.
