Right click on the photoshop cs2 shortcut and click on Run as Administrator

Then in the Registration screen click Do Not Register

Hopefully, now when you run photoshop cs2 normally the registration screen doesn't appear.

Hello Jeff, well as I said, I own a cd copy of CS2 and changed my hard

drive. I simply want to use my Photoshop program.

It is a great program and I love using it. Activation I suppose but it

thinks I am on a "trial" basis and that is surely not

the case by the number of $750.00!

Why is this so difficult?

The version without activation you can get here...

[Link removed by modertor.]

If you only wanna get rid of the registration screen, you simply delete the "regsresen_US.dll"

Hi Tom,    "*The version without activation you can get here..."  *is all

in German.  I am in the USA and here we speak English.

Also:    "*If you only wanna get rid of the registration screen, you

simply delete the "regsresen_US.dll"  *

This video has music and would be immensely helpful if you would speak out

the directions instead of flying through it so quickly

that your mouse pointer is a bloody blur!  I was able to follow by edging

the red center dot on the YouTube progress bar ever so little at a time

which is very annoying and still, after deleting the file the reg screen

did not go away.

Also, there is NO "Do Not Register" button!  Any other ideas?

Except it's not $750. You've used it for fifteen years. That's pretty good mileage! Have you ever owned a 15 year old car? Keeping it on the road is tough work -

Nope! I have a 1999 Chevy & I love it. The Chevy Dealer works on it

whenever I need it.

Everyone knows why you can not help me. It is the way corporations are set

up to be sure of that bottom line. You must buy a new one every year! Now

Adobe wants monthly payments.! Check out reviews of modern day Adobe. It

is not a pretty picture! We will not EVER pay for anything with the

wretched Adobe name attached to it.

So do not give me that crap about how old my product is.

That is an old worn out arguement for a washed up organization!!!

Then it’ll ask every time. If the rest works that’s not bad after 15 years.

CS2 is almost 2 decades old.  The activation and registration servers are both long gone.  You need to obtain a download for an activation-free version and a new serial number from Adobe Customer Care via online chat (purple screen).  Keep in mind that CS2 was not designed to run on the latest and greatest operating systems.  Use at your own risk.

Hello Nancy, actually I did use the online chat and they sent me over to

you.

Oddly enough, this seems strangely similar to when we were kids and Dad

would say

"I don't know, go ask your Mom." And then Mom would say "I don't know, go

ask your Dad!"

I have done all this before and am quite aware of the routine. The problem

for today is that

I simply cannot locate the link that takes me to the "download for an

activation-free version and a new serial number" as you put it. Since you

are actively responding to my failed attempts at finding this clandestine

link and would appear to be at least some sort of front line Adobe

personnel, I would ask that you now provide me with said link so I can continue

to use my $750.00 investment in Adobe technology.

You should also know that I do not subscribe to the collaborative Adobe

philosophy that an item which Adobe created is less significant based on

time.

A "customer based" entity would surely know that having read the 1990 book

"Service America," that a for profit entity with an item sale in the

hundreds of dollars has a duty to stand behind said item without such

conditions.

After all I am not asking for a return or any type of further service but

merely to use the item I paid through the nose for.

I would therefore strongly suggest you take it upon yourself to attempt to

change the errant Adobe landscape where “upgrades” are concerned and try to

be more helpful to the customers it already has.

I don't work for Adobe.  I'm a fellow product user of many years and volunteer forum participant.  Adobe doesn't share their secrets with me.   So I can't tell you where they've hidden the download links.  You must get that  directly from Adobe Customer Care.  If needed, ask to speak with a supervisor.  I cannot help you any further.   Best of luck!

This is an official Adobe user-to-user community with some infrequent staff participation.   Unless you see an Adobe Staff badge  beside a name (see screenshot below), you are not speaking directly to Adobe here.

Chances are you are talking with a fellow forum member and product user like yourself.   We are happy to help users with routine product & installation questions.  But unfortunately this community can no longer assist users  with download links.  Adooe's official policy states that users who require legacy installers must obtain them directly from the support staff at Adobe Customer Care.

I'm afraid there is nothing more to say on this topic.  I am therefore locking this discussion.

Goodbye and good luck.
