Mac Pro 3,1 (2008) video card suggestion

Hello everybody

I'm running El Cap on my trusty Mac Pro 3,1 and use an AMD Radeon HD 5870 to drive an 24" Eizo CG and a 23" Apple Cinema Display. I use both screens at their native Full HD resolution.

The problem is that I lose video randomly, meaning that both screens just go black at random intervals but the computer keeps running. If I wait a bit to reboot then video comes back.

I suspect the video card is about to go, so I am wondering about which card to get.

I use Photoshop CS6 and have no intention to upgrade either Photoshop or beyond El Cap.

Thanks a lot in advance for your suggestions

Philip

Hello Neil

Thank you for your reply. No I'm in the Netherlands. Perhaps I'm misunderstanding but I'm not looking for help on how to fix my current card, but rather suggestions on which new card to buy for Photoshop CS6 use.

Best

Philip
