Making a PNG image transparent

Hi there,

I have a PNG image from the internet (an iPhone case) which I need to turn transparent. So essentially the iPhone case is empty/transparent but the background is still there.

This is for a third-party app on Shopify where customers can attach their own image to products such as an iPhone case, and the empty/transparent phone case will be filled by the customers image attached.

Please let me know if I need to explain further.

Thanks in advance!

Is this what you're going for?  See screenshot.

I used the Quick Selection Tool and a Quick Mask to refine areas around the iPhone.

Go to Select > Inverse > and use the Backspace key to remove unwanted background.

Hope that helps.

If the reverse is what you want, don't use the Inverse option. Just select the unwanted pixels from your iPhone and hit the Backspace key.

Hi Nancy,

Thank you for your response.

I have figured out now how to remove the iPhone pixels.

I would like to keep the pixel of the circles where the lens should be so the mockup doesn't do over them (The circled part in the attached screenshot. How can I do this?

Thanks again for your help!

If I have managed to

In Quick Mask mode, use paint brush to reveal/conceal pixels. Black conceals, white reveals.
