Trying to make a lot of images, all on different layers, the same size. They're the same aspect ration, but I can NOT figure out how to make them all the same size...? Transform only seems to give percentage, not pixel dimension.
thanks

That could be done in a script. However making images layers the same pixel size will not make image have the same scale unless there were all shot with the same focal length lens and focused at the same distance. You also wrote all the layer are the same size so I don't understand what your question is in reality.

Oh, an action? But transform only gives me percentages... All the images are 3:2, but pixel dimensions are different. I would like to make them all the same (say 600x400). Even an action would have to be applied to each layer individually (which would be ok, if I could figure how to set it up!)
thanks

Good question, this is one of those things that is there but easily missed. On the PC do a
You can also do this quicker by instead doing a ctrl T, then entering for a value in your width followed by the units abbreviation(eg: px), to force this to pixels. I do find it annoying that you have to continuosly keep clicking on the maintain aspect ration, but if you have many of these to do, I suggest recording an action.

Just to let you know, if you right click on the width or height, it will give you a drop down menu and you can choose a different measurement other than percentage.

Great, I can also type in "px" after number. BUT I recorded an action- typed in the width. But it saved the percentage, and applied that to subsequent layers (which didn't give me the correct size). But at least now I know how to change to pixels in transform, even if I can't automate the process... thanks for quick responses.

You can go back and edit the action, at that point, to give you pixels instead of percentage

Edit the action? Not sure how...I don't see any edit options (even with lots of right clicking!) ![]()

If you have a number of steps in the action, you can drag one of the steps of the action to the garbage can and recreate the action by hitting the record button and re-recording the action. Before you do that, though, I would back up your action to make sure that you still have it just in case you need to experiment. I would also complete a test run, first.

Yeah, I know how to do that, but it's still gonna give me percentage instead of pixels...

Transform seems to want to only record in percentage, so if I were you, unless anyone else has any other suggestions, I would use image size instead. If you want to change the pixel size only, this works just fine.

You can use the layers to files and load files into stack script to export the layers and re-import the resized images after your done. You might also have an easier time with the image processor script, no fiddling with recording an action.

Thanks, but having never used the image processor script or stack
script, I was able to do each layer one at a time. Maybe I should learn
something about scripting, someday! (Sounds too much like programming)

Script > image processor is a real beauty to use. You can automate all your files to go to a max width and max height, choose the quality you want, and Bob's your Uncle!!! It's really REALLY easy to use. Take a look. Maybe that is for you! Mr Maloney has an awesome point with that one!

Looks like it is pretty easy, more GUI than script. Will try that next time... THANKS!

Maybe now I know what you're talking about. I ran a test and created an action that should have shrunk an object to 50px x 100px, and it ran the action with percentage of 13.7% and 25.8%. Hmmmmmm. Weird!
