Hello,

I'm not sure what's happening with my Photoshop.  I'm using Photoshop 2021 and Windows 10.

I'm trying to create a new document.  File>New

I add a new blank layer.

I go to the menu for Filters and I noticed that the majority of my menu options are all grayed out.  I can't even do a simple thins as Render>Clouds because it's gray.

However, when I open an image, the menu items are not gray.

I'm not sure what's happening here.  Apparently, all my problems are with File>New.

I don't know what to do here.

Any thoughts?

Thank you.

I see what the issue is, 1000 inches * 1000 inches, you may want to scale that down a little, unless you like working with a 340 GB file 😊

Hi

Have you checked the color mode for the new document

Hello,

Yes, the color mode is set to RGB Color.  I attached a screen shot of the File>New dialog box.

I also attached a screen shot of my Filter Menu showing the grayed out options in a red box.

Also, I attached a third screen shot regarding the adding of a pattern adjustment layer.  You may not be able to see clearly but the pattern I selected was green trees and you can see the document is showing a green grid.

On top of that, I'm getting a scratch disk error after working in Photoshop for a good period of time.  The message appears randomly.  My laptop just had a 2TB SSD drive installed.  I should have plenty of disk space.

I'm not sure what's happening here.

The funny thing is when I open an existing image everything is acting normal.

I do infrared photography and it involves a lot of processing.  I have no trouble when doing this.

So, I'm not sure what's happening.  I'm really stumped.

Well, now, I do believe 320 GB would cause a problem. I didn't catch that.  ☺️

Hi,

Yes, changing from inches to pixels worked.

Thank you for your help.
