Menu options blacked out

Community Beginner ,

So when I click on a menu item, Windows for example, the rectangular box opens but all options are blacked out (not greyed out). In fact, If I go down the box with the mouse, each option becomes visible and selectable, so it all functions. I just cannot see the options until I actually hover over them with the mouse/pen. Tried restarting, rebooting.

Check your video card drivers and make sure they are all up to date.

Turns out I did miss one of the video drivers, and the seems to have fixed it. Thanks.

Hi

You will need to reset Preferences. Backup Actions, Swatches, Brushes, etc., then go to Preferences > General  > Reset Preferences on Quit. Next, Quit and Relaunch.

That did not work. Options still blacked out.

I just did maintenance Friday, checking and updating all out-of-date drivers. I think I will just uninstall and re-install and see if that helps.

Well I re-installed and still have the same program. I have two graphics cards, tried both, and the problem is the same with both. This does not affect any other applications!
