Hi guys , I've made a cool effect on some text using a gradient map and want to merge the two layers so I can copy and paste it. Whenever I merge the two or create a clipping mask the gradient layer dissapears and the text just returns to black and white. Please can anyone help. Thanks.

I'm guessing that your gradient map effect is being applied to the text layer and the black background. The effect probably also goes away if you hide the black background. When you merge the layers include that background. If you don't what the whole background to be a part of the text effect, you can trim the black background or before merging, replace it with a Layer Style stroke that's black and wide enough to make the effect work.

Great, Thanks so much ! I used a black stroke on the outside of the text which has solved the problem 🙂
