Hi,
I would like to save a logo as a monochrome bitmap 1bit.
Can I do this from photoshop? What kind of settings I need to have to export file to bitmap?
Or maybe should I export the file from illustrator? If yes, then how?
Hi
Three steps:
1. Change image mode to grayscale
2. Change image mode to bitmap
3. Save As bmp - this will give you the 1 bit option

Dave,
thanks for the advice.
I have tried to use this method, but result was terrible – pixels went crazy (attachment below).
Is there any way to avoid that shred effect?

The conversion to bmp is putting a screen on the grey edge pixels. Use a threshold adjustment first so that you only have pure black and white pixels in your image then use the 50% threshold option in the bmp conversion.

Presumably this happens during step 2. Can you show the original of this same information, please. Are you zooming in a lot to see these steps or is this natural size?

You might want to add a THRESHOLD adjustment layer on top of your layers to adjust the final look of the image before turning it to 1-bit

Sorry I added this to the wrong place and now I can't delete it.
