I'm using both CC2018 and CC2019 and I do a lot of black & white photo colorizing.  The most difficult part is coloring the human face to look realistic.

I would like to have multiple swatch groups for sample colors for individual face complexions, i.e., light skin, ruddy, reddish faces, etc.  I would like to take  sample colors from various areas of a face and set a group for just that face complexion, etc.

So far I have not found a way.  I would appreciate help if this is possible.

Thanks,

John

Hi F1Vanc,

Photoshop allows you to have one set of swatches open at a time.

When done, Reset without saving to keep the current saved set.

  • A second workaround is to use Creative Cloud libraries if you have access to them.

  • If you have Illustrator, it has a swatch library called Skin Tones that would be a good starting place to get swatches.

If you need more details on any of these three ideas, please ask.

Also, I loved your images last week on SFTW and I’m looking forward to what you do this week!

Thank you very much Jane!  I will check out that method now.  That will sure simplify things for me.
