My brush strokes don’t appear unless I lift my pen

I'm using an iPad, Apple Pencil Gen 2, the latest version of photoshop as of 2024, and the education free trial. I heard this was an old issue but I don't really know if it ever got solved. If someone could help with this it would be greatly appreciated. I was excited to use photoshop finally but I can't deal with this issue of not seeing my brush strokes unless I lift my pen. Please help!!
