OK, in that case - open Photoshop, Edit > Preferences > Camera Raw. That opens the ACR preferences panel I posted above. Uncheck Graphics Processor from there.
Hi D Fosse, I can open the Photoshop and create new file. But when I try to open the Jpg files, or I use "Edit in" in LightRoom, The photoshop will shut down, immediately
I have been just got this issue from the latest update of Photoshop CC 2018. I tried to edit photos from LR to PHotoshop CC, but the photoshop automatically quit after i Press " Command E" (I am using Mac OS high Sierra), or when I choose open on the photoshop to open the jpg file from LR, the Photoshop quick immediately.
Any one know how to fix it, please tell me, I really appreciate your help, since I really need to use photoshop for most of my projects.
I got the problem report from Photoshop like this:
Process: Adobe Photoshop CC 2017 [1756]
Path: /Applications/Adobe Photoshop CC 2017/Adobe Photoshop CC 2017.app/Contents/MacOS/Adobe Photoshop CC 2017
Identifier: com.adobe.Photoshop
Version: 18.1.5 (18.1.5.88)
Code Type: X86-64 (Native)
Parent Process: ??? [1]
Responsible: Adobe Photoshop CC 2017 [1756]
User ID: 501
Looks like Lightroom is still connected to Photoshop CC2017, not Photoshop CC2018. Maybe you need to uninstall that.
Hi, I did follow your instruction, but it still comes up the same problem. the Photoshop still cannot open the jpeg from LR. it still automatically shut down.
It sounds like jpegs are set to open through ACR, and ACR is crashing Photoshop because of a buggy video driver.
Try to uncheck "Use Graphics Processor" in Camera Raw Preferences. You don't have to open ACR for this, ACR prefs can be accessed from Bridge or Photoshop.
If this does it, just leave it unchecked for now. You don't need it unless you have a 4K or 5K display.
We're sorry to hear about this, as Photoshop quits when you try to edit and image from Lightroom to Photoshop, could you please let us know does it happen with all the images or some specific images?
Could you please let us know which exact version of Photoshop & Lightroom you're working on?
