Navigating zoomed image

I've got an endless project that requires me to zoom into a scanned image and go over all of it to find dust spots to remove. Isn't there a way to do this in an organized manner, where a keyboard shortcut (or something) allows me to jump from one area to another, without skipping any parts of the image? I thought I learned this several years ago and have forgotten it.

Thanks,

Gary

You can press Space key on your keyboard - it's temporary Hand Tool and just move your image to destination area. If you release Space key you return to exact tool you used before

You can also try to use Window > Navigator panel

or some Shortcuts:

CTRL+0 fit on screen

CTRL + 1 - 100% zoom

CTRL+ - zoom in

CTRL - - zoom out

Alt + Scroll on mouse - zooming

The organized manner to do this:

  1. Press Ctrl+1 to view at 100%
  2. Press Home to go to the top left of the image. (you can drag the image out from the corner a lttle bit to see the edges properly)
  3. Retouch the area that's visible on screen.
  4. Press Ctrl + PgDown to move one screen to the right. Repeat untll you get to the right edge of the image.
  5. Press PgDown to move one screen down, and press Ctrl + PgUp to move one screen to the left.

There will be a slight overlap between screens, so you shouldn't miss any dust spots.

You could click on the scroll bars. If you worked top to bottom, you could just work your way down with the Page Down key, click on the scroll bar to move over, and then use the Page Up key to work back up to the top, etc.
