Need more photoshop techniques for creating art like Pixel Stretch.

Pixel Stretch is a great example of Photoshop techniques that I'm trying to expand in order to create my own works. This type of technique is quite complicated but I need more of them in order to apply my works. I linked several inspirational examples that I wish to try to practice so that I can develop my own techniques.

I've been searching for new info for a while espeically from Google but it wasn't that frutiful. Algorithm is also interesting to me but I barely know what to do with Photoshop in terms of creative or complicated techniques.

Any suggestions?

Please post screenshots on this Forum directly. 

And I wonder if some of these stylings would not be better approached in vector applications like Illustrator.
