New Photoshop Update Problems

New Here ,
Apr 21, 2022 Apr 21, 2022

Since the update I have been having such horrible problems with crashing. I will be working on a project and the screen will just mess up (see photo below). I can sometimes save the project, and sometimes lose what I am working on. Each time, I have to hard close the program by going to my computers task manager. I have literally been working on the same file for 2 days now. I have updated to the newest versions available. Yesterday, I uninstalled Photoshop and Creative Cloud completely to see if that helped... today, still doing the same thing. Very frustrating.

"I have updated to the newest versions available..."

Does that include v23.3.1 released today?

If not , then try updating to this latest version. If not, try going to Preferences > Performance > GPU Settings >Advanced and uncheck GPU compositing. Then click OK and close and restart Photoshop.

If that still does not resolve your issue then go to Preferences > technology Previews and check Decativate Native Canvas. Then click OK and close and restart Photoshop

My version says its the 23.3.0, but I literally just redownloaded it this morning and my creative cloud says its up to date.

You may need to sign out of CC and back in again then check for updates to get that latest version

We believe that underlying issue of the Photoshop home screen appearing where the document canvas should be (temporarily worked around by selecting the ‘Deactivate native canvas button’ in Technology Preview) has been fixed, and you may now de-select that button for future Photoshop sessions. Please let us know if any of these issues return once the native canvas has been re-activated.
