no available windows in Photoshop on a mac

Upgraded mac os from el capitan to sierra (I have a mid 2014 mac). When I initially bring a picture into photoshop there is no issue. Once opened when I bring another picture in I get "no available windows". I have read thru available posts and have utilized the corrections mentioned (in mission control) with no success. I have worked with Adobe support and they say there is nothing wrong with Photoshop 2019 and to go to Apple support. Apple support couldn't figure it out and only advised me to upgrade to Mojave which I really didn't want to do. PLEASE, any suggestions???

A search turned up  this Forum advice:

https://discussions.apple.com/thread/7905113

It reads: Go to system preferences > trackpad >uncheck force click

Unfortunately,  it was not marked "Correct" by the OP so there is no confirmation that it solved the problem.

Thanks for your reply. Did not see "force click" so I unchecked everything only having the curser available on the trackpad. It didn't solve the issue.

Check the rest of that thread (more replies) for other ideas.

Thanks to all for your reply's. I did check the thread and worked with other ideas without success. It ended up being an issue with my mac. Adobe had me uninstall and reinstall Photoshop twice and they said it worked fine. With a second call to apple they finally transferred me to a senior adviser who said he has dealt with that issue of no available windows but with different applications. He was magnificent. He spent over 45 minutes running thru different tests, corrections, most of which didn't solve the problem but eliminated a possible cause. He reached a point where he said we needed to start fresh with my software/library as it was full of junk. He explained that the os el capitan handled the issue but not sierra. He removed the junk and created a new library ( I am not technical so I'm sure I'm not explaining it correctly). Finally it worked!!!! He said I now had a "clean" computer to work with. The first support rep told me that she couldn't figure it out and that upgrading to the newest os should solve it. I don't believe upgrading is necessary if you don't need it. The second rep reviewed that, asked for help then said he couldn't figure it out and would transfer me to a senior adviser. Grateful for that. Again that to all who viewed this conversation and responded.
