No frames visible when exporting H264 animation

Hi. I can't get my animation to appear in the .mp4/H264 video i'm trying to export.

when i choose Quicktime it works, and i get images when i do separate image export.

any idea how i could make it work?

I have a different, but perhaps related question. Eaelrie this afternoon \the Photoshop Crop Tool develped an anomali, wherein, upon cropping to a sepcified size, the corpped image dissapeard entirely. I can locate id by magnifying thescreenmultiple eimts, until the barest minimum image appears.

I tried to clear this bu uninstalling an d rinstalling Photowshop v. 2.0.2.1. That did not help. The same behavior recurred.

I am litterlly at wits' end, ttying yo fix thi. Any ideas from any of you would be gratefully appreciated.
