Hi all,

Recently updated to CC 2019. Working with paths at the moment.

Ever since the update, I haven't been able to save a path. I've just had Photoshop open on my laptop for a while (Work-related).

Now, after selecting the path using the "load path as a selection" tool, I cannot do anything- copy, paste, etc. When I just have the path by itself (without selecting it), I do not have any options either. It has always been labelled "Path 1"- never done the usual "Work path" I'm used to in 2017.

I tried resetting the tool, but nothing appeared to happen.

I jumped from 2017 to 2019 so it could be a fault on my part, but I would really like to know how to skirt around this issue. Thanks!

(Sorry for the double-post)

Working in a different file now- I can't even copy/paste a standard layer. Under edit, like my photo above, everything is grayed out.

Anyone know what's going on?

Hi

What exact version of Photoshop do you have, go to Help > About Photoshop CC and are you importing images from Lightroom by any chance, there was an issue with that in version 20.0.1 that was fixed in version 20.0.2

Hi,

I am on 20.0.1, so I'll see if updating fixes the issue. The images are just standard Jpegs I got off the internet, so it isn't a Lightroom issue.

Are you using Lightroom? Are you sending these JPG images to PS from LR?

How are you opening them in PS? Are they saved to your local hard drive?

What happens if you first Save As and turn the JPG into a TIFF or PSD file?

I wasn't using Lightroom- the images went directly from the internet to PS.

They are saved onto an external hard drive, no the Cloud or anything. I always open PS and then do File>Open.

I was attempting to work in both Jpegs and PSD files with no luck.

But it has been resolved- I just had to update PS (I was on 20.0.1 for almost two weeks now, so I figured I wouldn't run into any issues this quick).

Thanks!
