Nothing works properly!

I have been on the phone for 5 hours with Adobe today- no help at all. I am now told I need to get a new graphics card on a 2 yr old MacBook pro for Photoshop to work properly! For real? Anyone else have ideas?

Can't grab or move an image without it randomly jumping to a whole other layer! Can't change font or size. Stressed out and not sure what to do.

Hi @jemmaB

You didn't give us

  • your macOS version
    or
  • graphic card info
    or
  • PS version

so this is a generic answer.

PS system requirements are here:

https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/system-requirements.html

GPU info is here:

Try these:

  • If the Adobe tech didn't tell you to reset Preferences, then try that: Prefs > General > Reset Prefs on Quit
  • Turn off Auto Select in the options bar for the Move tool to stop PS from auto-selecting another layer
  • For the typeface issue, this is what works for me: accept the type in the options bar, then edit it by double-clicking the "T" icon in the layers panel. I've been able to type the correct text as well as format it after that first glitch, plus it starts working on other layers for the rest of the session.

Let us know how it goes and if we can further assist.

~ Jane
