So I have a Corsair One Pro with 16GB of RAM, Windows 10, an Intel 17-7700K processor, and an NVIDIA 1080TI graphics card and am having some trouble opening files in Photoshop 2018 w/o it freezing. I've been able to open a few RAW files, but most of the time the RAW editor opens and just turns a blank grey, freezes, and then terminates.
I have seen other people posting about how their perfectly capable systems are having this issue with this graphics card and am unsure how to fix it without having to go into preferences and uncheck "use graphics processor." When I do uncheck it, everything works okay (albeit slower), but I want the benefits of using the GPU.
I've tried basically everything in the forums (i.e. uninstalling/reinstalling, running adobe cleaner, etc.) and nothing has changed the issue. My NVIDIA drivers are all up-to-date and everything else in my system works great - so it seems to be some sort of compatibility issue w/ Photoshop 2018 and the 1080TI.
Any ideas/suggestions?
Hi,
Thanks for your advise. Finally I fixed the problem, I am using 2xEVGA brand 1080Ti under SLI mode. There is a clock speed & temperature monitoring program by EVGA named Precision XOC v6.2.7. If I close this problem, then there is no problem at all and the ACR/PS is working smooth. Seems that the ACR is having problem with exist of this display card monitoring program.

If you have not installed Windows 10 1803 install it and also reinstall your Nvidia 1080TI device driver see if the Problem still exists than.

I have same problem, Camera Raw could only open 1 raw file, and it will hang, freeze and terminate if I try to open more raw files. Running 2x1080 ti and without any problem when using 980tix2 before upgrade. If I disable using Graphic processor feature, then it works without problem.
Windows 10 already using 1803 and using latest Nvidia driver as of June, 2018. 3D Mark stress test passed @ 98.7% and prove that the graphic cards & system are in good condition.

I would think if all was well with your nvidia device driver ACR would work with your GPU enabled. My Windows 10 1803, Photoshop CC 2018 19.1.4, Latest ACR version GPU enable old Nvidia Quadro driver does.

The troubleshoot GPU program article is useless and out-dated, just wasting my time and gave me the wrong direction. It assumes desktop using two different display cards, not two same cards running in SLI mode. I am really frustrated after go through the whole article. And in fact, before this time upgrade, I have been using 970GTX x2, 980 Ti x2 for several years without any problem.

Hi
Have you tried using one GPU with Photoshop? Although you seem to have been lucky with 2 GPUs previously, multiple GPUs are known to cause issues with Photoshop (see section 7 and 8 here):
Troubleshoot Photoshop graphics processor (GPU) and graphics driver issues
