P: Graphics card not detected in Photoshop 22.3.1 on Windows 10

I update Photoshop CC2021 to vers 22.3.1 on 4-14-2021. Now photoshop does not recognizes the graphic accelerator.

I have a Nvidia Gforce GTX 1050Ti Graphic card never had any problems before when updating. I had to revert back to vers. 22.3 to make it work again.

Here's the thing I try to tell people: Hardware/software works...until it doesn't, usually via hardware/software obselescence.

You're finding that out just now. The 500 series of cards was released about a decade ago. NVIDIA themselves ended driver support about a couple of years ago. (Their website lists a game-ready driver from 2018. There is no Studio-ready driver.)

You have to understand: Almost everything has to eventually move on or we'd still be using hard disk drives with ribbon cables and CRT monitors. (Though I still sentimentally love the look of CRT monitors.)

And you have to understand nothing new has been implemented to justify this ended support.
Developers must recognize when they make a many bugs. To the balance of justifying that it no longer has support for what is old.
Analyzing the release date of version 22 and the amount of updates, it is clear that the development is not good.
If things are cool there and you have a new model of VGA, congrats. It doesn't work like that here.

I have an NVIDIA GTX 1060 (6 GB) that came out around 2016, which is around the time I built my latest system which is looking a little longer in the tooth these days. I don't expect it to serve me forever.

When I build another system, just about everything will get upgraded; the only thing I usually don't upgrade are my keyboard, mouse, audio interface and monitors. I might keep the chassis this time around since I love it so much.

I don't expect to use Photoshop 2021 on a 1995 Packard Bell (the first multimedia computer I ever had) that used DOS 6.22 and Windows 3.11. I'm using this as an extreme to get through to you.

If NVIDIA themselves aren't supporting their own product anymore, what does that tell you?

My friend, I will be respectful to you. Your contribution is leading to a solution to a new "problem" reported, given that the card worked with full support in version 22.2.0 (I just checked it out now).

If you have your 2016 setup working perfectly, perfect, congratulations! Nice to you. Forget this post on the support and look for nother one that you can contribute better.

My product is old, not supported by the manufacturer, but it worked 100% a few days ago, just like yours.

I have an extremely strong steup set up in 2010 and I don't need to justify myself to you. When I can buy another setup that will alive last 10 years or more, I will buy it.

I'm just trying to tell you, Diego, that Adobe are making efforts to "move on." This is not unlike what other companies have done or are doing. It's just that they're doing it now and not later.

Your long-in-the-tooth card working a version ago means essentially nothing in the grand scheme of things because Adobe decided to draw a line. What it does mean is that you should upgrade your card.

dTillman, support for old products doesn't just fade away gradually and gracefully. It happens suddenly! One day it works, the next morning it is no longer supported because the environment changed overnight, with an update.

This is how things evolve in the computer world. You have to come to terms with it. It will happen again.

I tried everything in the link, the only thing that worked for me is disabling the second graphic card. I don't know how this will affect the overall performance of my ZBOOK, but now I only have my NVIDIA Quadro T2000 with Max-Q Design enabled, and that gave me back the power of my Graphic card in Photoshop.

No it does not help... ! How can you disable a GPU when you can't enable it? There is a bug in Photoshop  not a hardware problem.

You could be disabling a GPU at the operating-system level. (If you were following Nik's link. It's not just one potential solution; it's several.) If you have two GPUs in your system, it could help to disable (the weaker) one. Photoshop's never liked more than one GPU active. (That's why there are issues on laptops since they usually have two GPUs: One for basic acceleration and one for more intense computations like Photoshop.)

Not sure what's causing this; I have an NVIDIA GTX 1060 but having no issues with the latest update. There's a common denominator somewhere that Photoshop is exploiting.

I went on a trip, and came back, PS was updated. It worked before I left and now it is toast - toast with respect to several tools being greyed out and PS's s GPU sniffer finding nothing or not working. Right now it is not a big deal as I do not do PS for a living so I can wait until Adobe fixes it. I was trying to learn the warp tools but they were greyed out for no reason as they worked when I left. Further my geographic information system software was working just fine and still is working and can be quite sensitive if a NVIDIA driver needs replacing or a WIN 10 has a problem , etc. It looks like a lot of PSers are having the same issue.

Open your creative cloud app. Next to photoshop you will see 3 dots. Click
on the dots and you will see your versions. Just click on the previous
version and it will install it and override your current version.

Same here. Windows 10, fully up to date. 5700XT with latest drivers. Card was working fine previously, now shows as unknown GPU in latest PS update. There is clearly something wrong with this latest update.

Since updating to the newest photoshop version, photoshop does not recognise my GPU (Radeon RX 5700 XT) anymore which causes photoshop to become unusable on my monitor. I had to revert back to version 22.3.0 where everything works fine still. I realise that the card is not brand new but it is not nearly old enough to be dropped from being supported.

Would be happy to hear about a fix or that the problem is being adressed.

I also reverted back to 22.3.0 as my NVIDIA GForce GTX 1070Ti was no longer recognized.  Wonder if/when Adobe releases 22.3.2 to fix what they broke in 22.3.1...
