PC shutdown when i open an ARW File.

Hello, if I right-click on an *arw file in Windows Explorer and click open with Adobe Photoshop 2023, the software starts, the photo can be seen for a short time and then the PC shuts down and Windows restarts. When I start Photoshop and call the file via Open file, the same error happens. I installed the latest version of the Camera RAW plugin (15.5.1). The error only occurs with the ARW files of my Sony camera. Photoshop is installed in version 24.7.0.
The Windows is installed on the latest hardware in version Windows 11 Home 22H2, no optimization programs, no virus scanners installed. Graphics card RTX 3060ti latest driver, CPU I7 13700k, chipset drivers up to date, all Windows updates installed.

Does somebody has any idea?

Does turning off

Photoshop > Settings > Performance > Graphic Processor Settings

and 

Photoshop > Settings > Camera Raw > Performance > Use Graphics Processor 

and restarting Photoshop have any bearing on the issue?

I have adjusted both settings, I removed the tick from the first setting and set it to OFF for the 2nd setting. Then in Windows Explorer an ARW file, right-click, open with Photoshop, Photoshop starts, then Photoshop opens, a window in the foreground, welcome to Camera RAW 15.5.1, I confirmed that with getting started, the window closes, and another one behind it Windows disabled GPU acceleration, I click OK, then PC crahes and restart. The image is already open in Photoshop.

I want to reinstall Windows because I don't know the access data for the Adobe customer account. Can I download a test version somewhere that the customer can then activate with his license?

Well, Photoshop cannot crash a current OS so the issue has to be something else.

Running with disabled GPU support should rule the GPU driver out but could you please check Help > GPU Compatibility? 

There is a free 7-day-trial of Photoshop but I am not sure whether you can start that if already registered a license on that computer once.

I installed a new M.2 SSD and completely reinstall Windows and then only the test version of Photoshop. I'll test it and report back later.

Hello, unfortunately I had to find out that the error was still there after installation on the new SSD. I then swapped the 580 watt power supply for a 750 watt as a test - and lo and behold - Photoshop now runs immediately and error-free. All stress tests (Prime95, Futuremark) previously ran without errors. I have no idea why the energy consumption is so high when starting Photoshop or whether the old power supply is defective. It's nice that the bug has been fixed. Thanks for the support.

Dang, that’s quite frankly a kind of trouble-shooting I wouldn’t even attempt!
