PCD file viewer/browser? for OSx

Community Beginner ,

Hi there

I want to open a few pcd files in Photoshop and have drownloaded a script for that, but I have a couple of dozen of disks (600 images) with PCD files on them and converting them all over over would take a lot of time, especially when I only want three or four. Is there a viewer for looking at the PCDs so I can preview them and select the ones I want to convert. Bridge doesn't recognize the format. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for responding. I did google it and even bought another pcdviewer. But the problem is that there is no way to view a disk (in this case, a cd) without going through the import process. As I said, I've got 30 cds (50 images per disk...1500 images) (not cdrs, they are commercial stock photo cds) that I'd like to preview and decide which ones to convert to another format. The amount of time it would take would be days. Not only because of the import process itself but because reading them off a cd is inherently slow.

PS: From what I can tell, all of the pcd converters are merely putting GUI on a set of command line source forge software. There is a browser on the stock photo cds but the problem is that it is a os9 software program which if I read properly, doesn't work under rosetta, even if I wanted to go back to that. And it looks like CS2 is alleged to be the last PShop that could open pcds and that iPhoto 9 allegedly could import the pcd format (but not preview them before import).

Which version mac os x are you using?

If the pcd files are on the original disk, then iPhoto should read them.

Perhaps the best viewer/editor for pcd files on a mac is pcdMagic.

You might be able to browse the cd using Graphic Converter

Also, try Photoline and use File>Browse

PhotoLine: Image Processing & Design Software

Photoshop cs3 is the last photoshop on mac that includes the PhotoCD.plugin in the optional plugins download and that plugin can also be used in photoshop cs4, but the kicker is that one needs to run photoshop cs4/cs4 on a PowerPC machine or an intel machine with Rosetta, so that eliminates any os x after 10.6.

Thanks for the suggestions. I am using Yosemite and using Photos (OS X) which does not do pcds anymore (no iPhoto). GraphicConverter does not support pcd (or at least my copy doesn't). I am trying out pcdmagic already but my budget doesn't support $80. The trial does watermarking.
