I
I would appreciated if you could help me . I am trying to customise a brush in PS CC 2025 for hair strands that pointed rather rounded at each end. In brush settings, I am getting a triangle waring - see attached screenshot. Also attached the brush line that I am getting- see screen shot. I have looked to some previous discussion, although they go back to 10 years ago, and watched a few YouTube videos . This wahet I have done so far.
Inserted a text in PS cc 2025 setting - see attached text Ticked and unticked window in box in Wacom setting.
Just 2 days ago , after I have done all above , the brush setting worked but now I went back to square one.
I am using:

Windows Ink has been the preferred API for a number of years now. I would rename the psuserconfig.txt or move it to another folder, and check Windows Ink in Wacom properties.
I use Fade for single hair strands, but I think you'll get better results with a fully hard brush, it looks like you are using a fully soft brush).
Set spacing to 5% and use a Fade vale of something like 500 — 1000
This is with a 1000 pixel square canvas, brush spacing 5%, one pixel fully hard brush. I also like to use a layer mask and soften the start of the stroke with a soft brush
You can make a hair preset by sampling some random dots (this is zoomed to 200%). I would actually copy the layer and set it to Multiply. Then merge the two layers before sampling (Edit > Define Brush Preset). Note that the dots do not align vertically. If they did you'd get darker strands where two dots overlapped vertically.
That gives you a stroke like this, with Fade set to 750 (1000 pixel canvas)
The best fur and hair brushes I know of are from Aaron Blaise. He is currently selly them for $1 a set
His cloud brushes are also as good as they get, and he has videos explaining how to get the best results from them.

Hi Trevor
Thank you so much for taking time looking at a solution for my problem. I have tried the fading method that you suggested , it works to a certain extend but that was not really what i was looking for. I still need to find a away to make things work one way or another. Thanks for pointing out for Aron Blaise's download - I have purchased 2 sets - real bargain.
