photohop duplciating layers automatically

I am using photoshop 2015 on Windows 10. I have no clue why but recently photoshop suddenly started creating duplicate layers when i Ctrl+alt+t and do any edit incl moving it around, making it larger, etc. how do I fix this issue?

Someone else had this same issue, but it was never solved

Hello, a transform is CTRL+T

Transform a copy is CTRL+ALT+T.

Drop the Alt key to get the behavior that you want..

Oh we gotta get you on the latest version of Photoshop... you are so missing out. The application has really evolved since then.

Example CONTENT AWARE FILL is finally working the way it was intended. SKY REPLACEMENT is amazing and that is just the tip of the iceberg.

I know you may have your reason to stick to the older version of Photoshop. But in the end having the latest version will really help you out. Plus when you subscribe to the Cloud you get all the new updates... and support is guaranteed. Whereas, older versions of any software lose support after awhile and many new computers will not run older versions of software.
