Photoshop 2017: Unable to see my desktop files

If I File/Open in Photoshop, when I click on Desktop, the window is empty/blank.

This happened after the spinning beach ball of death as Photoshop was thinking and thinking...I escaped and now have no access to desktop files through Photoshop. It can't/won't see them.

I can open desktop files via DropbBox which is my workaround.

Photoshop has jugged since upgrading to Carolina.

Thanks for your help!

Hi there,

Sorry that Photoshop cannot load the Open window dialog after you've upgraded to the Mac OS Catalina.

Photoshop CC 2017 is not compatible with Mac OS Catalina. Please update to the latest version Photoshop 2020 from the Creative Cloud desktop app. See https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/uptodate.html

If you still continue to face the above issue, checkout this article https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/troubleshoot-home-screen-issues.html

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks,

Akash
