when i try to go to preferences > performance i get this error

An integer between 96 ans 8 is required: Closest value is inserted.

i can open files but i can´t work with the file ... memory error

everything worked fine befor i upgraded to 2018

If Adobe cleaner is crashing using the command prompt "run as administrator" then you have OS system issues.

You need to run from the same command prompt SFC /scannow"

You are sure you are R-clicking the command prompt icon and selecting "run as administrator"

Many people think that since they are logged on with administrative rights it should work.

Thanks for revert, I am aware about Administrator Privileges. Yes I Ran the Tool as Run As Administrator.

and Gonna Do the SFC again(done it previously when i made post week back) and Running CMD as Admin Can be Validated(It shows Administrator :Command Prompt)

I've been getting this exact same problem after the release of PS 2018. Performance settings cannot be read or accessed by PhotoShop, and Photoshop is stuck with a memory limit of 8 MB. I've tried to manually remove any Photoshop-related files the CC installer missed, but it turns out it's a general installation falure or driver problem. I haven't been able to figure out where exactly this problem lies, however I tried looking around for potential corruption in the registry, despite I can't spot any errors of what I know of.

Like other comments here, the prefs file cannot be reset to default in PhotoShop, and I get the exact same error as others when trying to access my Performance settings. I'm currently running Windows 10 1709, however I also had issues with Windows 10 1706.

CPU: i7-7700HQ @ 2801 Mhz, 4 cores, 8 threads

GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060

Integrated Video Processor: Intel HD Graphics 630 (not really relevant, as it's not in use with PS)

RAM: 16 GB (+2.4 GB pagefile)

I'd love to hear if somebody finds a soulution! ❤️

go to control panel/administrative rights/event viewer/ windows logs/application and find the PS crash log.

select "copy as text" on the right and post it here.

Error on Choosing>Preferences>Performance

And No PS Crash Log in event Viewer > i even checked temp etc but got PDApp.log file only.

I ran Photoshop to see if entry can come up in Event Viewer but nothing happened .

I read in a different message that PS does create a crash log for itself but it's encrypted and only adobe can decrypt them. Kind of tells you something!!

Got this problem ("integer between 96 and 0") today using the latest version of Adobe Photoshop CC 2018 (v 19.01). Photoshop worked perfectly yesterday. During last night, Windows Update installed some stuff and rebooted the computer. And now Photoshop will not work properly. It starts up and I can open pictures, but I can't edit the picture in any way. And I can't open the Performance tab in the Preferences. If I do, I get the message "An integer between 96 and 0 is required. Closest value is inserted". I can't get rid of the message, so I have to kill the program.

Windows update installed the following updateds: KB4053577*, KB4054517, KB4048955, KB4048951*, KB4051613, KB4049179*, KB4041994.
* = updates for Adobe Flash Player.

Today I first installed Photoshop CC 2017, but it didn't work either. So I installed Photoshop CS6, and that version is in fact working properly. I have to use Photoshop CS6 until there is a fix for CC 2018.
I have also read on this page and on several other websites that the only known solution seems to be a new clean installation of Windows 10 and then reinstall the Adobe CC apps. However, I don't really want to reinstall everything. I told my boss today that I need to buy a new computer because of this problem. My computer is over 3 years old anyway.

I just had an hour long chat session with the Adobe Support where they remote controlled my computer. Doing a lot of stuff, login in as admin, re-installing Photoshop, checking and changing graphical settings and memory settings in Windows and more.
The supporter got help from several senior advisors.

Conclusion: Nothing helped.
Solution: Reinstall Windows (as already mentioned everywhere).

I didn't feel like reading all of the posts before this and it may be mute, but have you tried booting in safe mode with internet and than installing cc and PS. it will be huge on the screen but would totally eliminate any software conflicts.

I haven't tried safe mode (yet). And it seems no one else in this thread has tried it either (when I searched). But I think I read in another forum that someone had tried to fix the problem by booting in safe mode, but it didn't help.

I unintalled Ps 2018 and installed Ps 2017 and got a message that Ps was not liking my video driver and was turning off those features. I have a nvidia GT740 with up-to-date drivers. I can access all preferences except Performance. When I do that I get the same message shown previously in this thread and photoshop hangs and I have to kill it from the task manager. I also tried deleting the user photoshop 2018 folder to no avail.

Hey guys. Awhile ago when select & mask came out I had a problem with PS going white forcing me to kill it via task manager. It turned out to be a feature under the windows mouse function called, "snap to." once I turned it off the problem resolved itself. Worth a mention!!!

Hi, I have the same problem, except my error reads integer between 50 and 8 error.

I just purchased Photoshop Elements 2018 the other day.

I have installed,reinstalled as admin. I have 32gig if ram and I can't do anything with the program.

I am going to call Adobe and tell them I want a refund.

FYI: Also tried in safe mode in Windows 10. No difference. Still get the error message when opening the Performance tab in the Photoshop CC 2018 settings.

So, right now I'm using Photoshop CS6 that is in fact working (CS6 is included if you got CC).
I will use CS6 until:
* Adobe (or anyone else) finds a solution to this problem,
* I buy a new computer, or
* I re-install Windows 10 and Adobe CC. But this will probably not happen.

Meanwhile I found a workaround for my problem. Under \HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\16. 0 I created a DWORD OverridePhysicalMemoryMB (my System has about 4 GB of free space with total 8 GB RAM) with the value of 4000. Now I can open 'preferences --> performance' and change values. Anything works well again.

Obviously, PSE gets not the correct value for the available memory on my system, but I did not found the reason. That shouldn't be a problem for Adobe, their developers know how and where they grab the value. Let's see whether ADOBE contact, I have opend a telephone support request two days ago.

I tried this solution and it also worked for Photoshop CC v19. Thanks!

In Regedit:

\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Photoshop\120.0

Added DWORD "OverridePhysicalMemoryMB" with the value "24000" decimal bas (=24 GB RAM = my installed RAM).

I was able to open the Performance tab in preferences now. And also tools like "blur" are working.

Hey Adobe, this is THE ONLY program I have had a problem with on this computer. Running a pretty new, high performance PC with the the latest software updates for Windows 10, and with no other software programs having issues, this is absolutely on you. There is no way I would have reinstalled Windows to fix this because, believe it or not, this isn't the most important program I use. While the problem may not be widespread, the configuration is common. As a sys admin professionally, I am confident it is not for lack of understanding on my part. I expect better customer service from a subscription service.

JJMack his screen captures would have been useless, as would have mine. It was not possible to capture what you were requesting, but you fixated on that. Not at all helpful.
