Hey guys. Big problem on 2019 Photoshop on my Mac running 10.12 - - It opens existing files, but almost immediately beach balls out. I have (1) reinstalled the program . . . still beach ball after about 15 to 20 seconds, or whenever you move cursor to any menu item or attempt ANY action . . . so (2) did the reset of preferences on start up, which fixed nothing. Hopefully I can figure out how to back-grade to 2018 so I can get my work done. Remind me to never upgrade in the middle of a job! I am set to auto-report to Adobe, so they should have five or six prime specimens to work with if they want to figure out what they did wrong. If you have any brilliant ideas as to how to fix the new version, let me know and I will try them out.

Hi Dano and all,

For those on Mac systems, can you try creating a new Administrator User Account and see if CC 2019 applications open for you?

Basic troubleshooting steps to solve problems and issues in Adobe Photoshop CC

The engineering team is investigating these crashes on startup, but I've had luck with new user accounts being able to open Photoshop CC 2019 successfully.

Let us know how that goes.

Pete

May try that later, as in Next Week. I already spent a couple hours trying the usual of deleting the prefs, caches, etc and finally unistalling the new and reinstalling the previous version. I've been on very hard deadlines and haven't the time to explore options. Hopefully the bugs will be worked out soon.

I think I sent at least 20+ crash reports yesterday and this morning for CC 2019 InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop. I've uninstalled and moved back to CC 2018.

Hi TinTin, and Droogie,

Sorry for the crash on your systems.

Are both of you logged in as administrators?

Have either of you tried using Selective Startup using the msconfig tool to troubleshoot there being a potential software conflict with Photoshop's startup?

Some instructions to do that here: HP PCs - Using Microsoft System Configuration (Windows 10, 8) | HP® Customer Support

Disable startup items, and non-Microsoft services, reboot, then let us know if Photoshop CC 2019 starts up normally for you.

Are you crashing during startup? or can you get into Photoshop at all for enough time to view Photoshop's Help > System info dialog?

If you can get to it, please post the System Info text into the forum thread here when you can.

Thank you!

Regards,

Pete

NONE of my CC 2019 apps (that I upgraded to yesterday) will start up without crashing. Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign. I'm on a Mac Pro (Late 2013),  3.7 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon E5 processor, 16 GB RAM.

I've had to uninstall all three and go back to CC 2018.

PITA and a lot of wasted time. Will be on the lookout for a crash fix.

2018-10-18_20-22-59.pngPhotoshop 2019 is bad, as in not good. I just did the update yesterday. Haven't been able to use it. It crashes constantly. Yes, I sent the crash reports, many of them. I'm uninstalling 2019 and going back to 19.1.6. It was good, as in it worked! Once everyone else has done Adobe's bug testing, and the engineers take that data to make a working version, I'll jump back in. Imagine people who would pay to be guinea pigs. Oh, wait, I'm one of them. (Hint: we all are) I used Snagit to do this screen shot, as PS is broken.

That doesn't work for a lot of us that are in large companies and the networks used is windows active directory for security purposes - as in locked down tighter than a drum and are not able to turn user accounts on and off. Am surprised this version was released into the wild without proper testing in all scenarios.

When replying to this thread would be very important and most helpful to know

  1. What OS version you are on
  2. Was UAC was disabled or not
  3. Does CC2018 still work

Prior to installing  Adobe Version updates, I have 2  recommendations:

  1. Check your hardware and software meets the requirements Adobe Illustrator system requirements
  2. Click on advanced options during install and choose to keep the prior version

Sorry, I'm on windows 10, uac was not disabled and photoshop 2018 works great as do all the other updated 2019 programs. Photoshop 2019 was the only glitch.

I'm not seeing the option for "advanced options" anywhere on my Creative Cloud desktop app during install.  Where might that be?  Again, on windows 10.

Should come up right after you click update button in Adobe cloud, look for a gear icon or red type "Advanced Options". But do not make another click after update button until you find or will remove.

Show a screenshot of where you are at.

For  illustrator you will have to find the option to  install previous version, try the triangle dropdown to right of open. Photoshop still says update, so you can still catch this in time.

I don't even get the apps button, cause at work we have a locked down enterprise version of Adobe Cloud, so sorry I can't be more on target in my replies.

Mine is an enterprise version too, just not as locked down.  The drop down to the right only shows access to tutorials, ability to download previous app versions and "learn more"

Supposed to be a manage >> other verions button.

Install previous version of your Creative Cloud app

if not scroll down and look around might be a previous versions heading like this

xxx.png

Since you have install and update button, you should be able to do this without contacting your IT dept.
