Photoshop 2025 Quick export as PNG has stopped working for exporting masked subjects

Photoshop 2025 Quick export as PNG has stopped working for exporting masked subjects.  It  worked the last time I used it, some days ago.   Today it is not working.   Resetting photoshop did not fix the problem.  I think someone at Adobe accidentally effed it up.  I am so sick and tired of having things work one day and then stop working the next.

I cannot replicate this on Windows, Photoshop 26.7.0. It works either from the File menu or by right-clicking on the layer with the layer mask.
