Photoshop 22.4.2 hanging on "Photomerge" & accessing "System Info..." on Windows 10

Noticed it hanging on "Photomerge". Hanging on "System Info..." is the ironic cherry on the pie.

What I tried so far:

- checking / unchecking "use graphic processor"

- updated graphics driver (RTX 2080)

- reinstalled PhotoShop

Any idea what to try next?

Please don't ask for the "System Info" 😉

Hi,

We're sorry about the trouble with Photoshop 22.4.2 while using Photomerge. Did you start experiencing this issue only after the latest update? Do you experience the same behavior if you launch the application as administrator/

Please ensure you have all available Windows updates installed on the computer. You can try to reset the preferences of Photoshop using the steps mentioned here: https://adobe.ly/2Qzc0K3

Please backup your settings prior to resetting the preferences. You can check: https://adobe.ly/2vNz6FG

You can also try optimizing the Preferences of Photoshop using the steps suggested here: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/optimize-photoshop-cc-performance.html

Let us know how it goes!

Regards,

Nikunj

I never tried to use Photomerge before, so I can not really tell if this is a new or an old issue. Before having Photoshop hang due to Photomerge I never used the Systeminfo function.

Windows 10 is up to date.

I tried resetting the preferences and start as admin to no avail...

We're sorry that the issue persists. Please ensure you have all available Windows updates installed on the computer. Also, try uninstalling Photoshop using the Creative Cloud cleaner tool & then re-install the app to check if that helps. You can check the steps to use the Creative Cloud cleaner tool here: https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/cc-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html

Photomerge and  System Info should not hang on Windows 10.

I think you should try using  the Creative Cloud Desktop Application to uninstall Photoshop 2021.  Then use Windows File explorer set its view option to be able to see hidden  folders and files and navigate to your Usere ID AppData  Roaming Adobe  and  delete the folders associated with Photoshop 2021. Then use Creative Cloud Desktop Application to install Photoshop 2021.  IMO you should also have  Photoshop 2020 installed Photoshop 2021 has many issues. https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/known-issues.html

Thanks for the suggestion but it did not work.

Same issue: Photoshop hangs on Photomoerge and Systeminfo.

Will install a previous version now but I sure hope that somebody can still find out what's going on...

i have the same issue

I have a PC ( i9 9900K , GTX1660ti ) and a laptop ( Ryzen9 9800HX RTX3070 ).

both are the same problem

Recently, the laptop has been solved.
On my laptop, turning off the onboard graphics (radeon) solved the problem.

But on PC, I still can't find a way.

LATEST

Deleting the monitor color profile solved this.

I use the Spyder 5 color calibration device. this was the cause of the problem.

2 pc (desktop and laptop both solved)
