Thank you.

A bit more insight. The official bulletin will be updated/released on Feb 8th. The gist of the security issue was that opening a PDF that contained 3D content could be used as an exploit. That issue was patched in 22.5.5 and 23.1.1. I'll try and post the the link once it's live.

Hi

There's no fixes listed for version 22.5.5, the last was 22.5.4

https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/fixed-issues-history.html

So the 22.5.5 update was more than likely a security update

Thanks, but this already happened with 22.5.4; Adobe published the list of fixes long time after release. With this thread I expressed a hope that somebody from Adobe updates this infoemation timely and dutifuly, or other knowleadgelle folks inform me [and other interested users] on the details.

The release is mentioned here: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/legacy-version-updates.html

The page you linked to says at the top:
"Adobe provides technical support and security fixes for the current version and the prior version. Bug fixes are only provided for the current version."

Since 22.5.5 was released three months after 23.0 and was not the current version, @Ged_Traynor is correct that this version would only have security fixes.

I hope this helps, Ivan.

Photoshop 23.1.1 is the latest version at this date.

In the CC application, did you try this after selecting a product:

It did not show me any details on 22.5.5.

Actually I agree with the OP here. An update has taken place from 22.5.4 to 22.5.5, two days ago, and so far there does not appear to be anything in Adobe's documentation that states what the change includes. If you take the update then the CC app states "general stability updates".

With previous releases to 22.5.2, 22.5.3 and 22.5.4  there are contents mentioned here : https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/fixed-issues-history.html   and from that page the specific security bulletins for security updates are linked. With 25.5.5 there is no mention and no such links.

I don't see the posters request as unreasonable. Anyone would want to know what is changing before deciding whether to take the update.

This is still primarily a user to user support forum. Everything Adobe wants its customers to know is outlined and the URLs were provided.

Again, Adobe never promised anyone here or elsewhere they have to explain the minutia of every dot release.

Further and again, this one dot release that is a "general stability updates" is even older than the newer update which is outlined and explained by Adobe as is their choice.

Anyone can upgrade/update or roll back. Why anyone wouldn't want bug fixes and "general stability updates" is beyond me but again, Adobe has provided the information they want to provide and everyone else here is either a support volunteer or not (an end user) and an Adobe team member can post further details than "general stability updates" if they so desire.

You'd kind of think, if Adobe wanted to provide specific information about an old dot release, they would have done so but its now water under the bridge; they didn't and more importantly, there is a newer update.
