Photoshop CC 2018 Extensions Greyed Out

greetings,

hope someone can help! even after re-installing Creative Cloud I still can not use extensions with Photoshop CC. weirdly enough I can install them, I also get the dialogue box that they were successfully installed. but it seems extensions don`t work for whatever reason since the latest update of Photoshop, system info also says there are none.

Your system info shows there no extensions are loaded. I only have the creative desktop application install two extensions and they work in CC 2018. What extensions did you try to install into cc 2018 and how did you try to install them. If they are installed by third party installers did you check with the extensions developer to see it the is a cc 2018 version.

I tried to install Grut Brushes, they were already installed before the update but vanished after. the developer confirmed that the installer is compatible with 2018, also after the installation Photoshop says that said installation was successful and I have to restart. but extensions stay greyed out anyway. btw the brushes appeared in the tool presets but the extension itself still can`t be loaded.

As I wrote the Photoshop system information you posted show that no extensions are installed... Look at your system info.. nothing was installed into CC 2018 It looks like the extensions installer may have installed the extension in some other version of Photoshop not CC 2018. CC 2018 initializing see no extension that need to be initialized

yes, that is exactly the problem I`m trying to solve. but as I wrote twice now I can open the installer through file -> scripts -> browse and install the extension. Photoshop also confirms the successful installation. yet there are no extensions shown.

also as written in the initial post I reinstalled CC but nothing changed.

I am re-installing photoshop now, I will post if it helps.

Do you install the extension with Photoshop or with some extension installer. If with any extension installer how does Photoshop let you know the installation was successful. Or is what you are seeing just an incorrect installer message. Check again with the extension developer, if its their installers scripts message. Photoshop CC 2018 does not even seem to be installing any default extensions. Your CC 2018 may have been compromised by the extensions script installer.

Photoshop Scripts can make File system changes which may have broken your CC 2018 install.

I installed through Photoshop file -> scripts -> browse and then choosing the installer. after deleting and freshly installing Photoshop extensions are back now without me doing anything different. so it seems you were on the right track. of course Photoshop reinstalled in the wrong language for whatever reason so now I have to delete and re-install again, but it seems the problem is fixed now

You set the Languane in the Creative Cloud Desktop preferences that should be all you need to do now.
