Photoshop CC 2019 (latest) very very slow with very large files

It's still a disaster. After 5 .1 updates issues are not solved at all. Just to make an example, take a single layer file of about 70000 pixel x 30000 (normal size for my kind of work) and try to crop. Prepare yourself for a veeeeery looooong pause… Same if you need to patch or clone something… In CC 2018 it's always instant. And I could go on forever. Are not the settings, I've tried EVERYTHING. The app is simply very slow with most task with large files. Stop. CC 2018 is ok.

Hope Adobe engineers are on the track to solve because after so many months I'm losing my patience.

I'm on the latest Mac Book Pro with 32GB of ram and 2TB disk. Same operations with CC 2018 are perfect. No waiting time. So it's NOT the machine!!!

Sorry for a bad experience with Photoshop's performance, let's make it right.

Could you please share Photoshop's Help > System Info dialog text here? As it would be helpful for us to troubleshoot further.

This is my System info but please be assured I've tried EVERYTHING in the last few months and non of these issue ever happened with CC 2018. And this immense slowness happens in a significant way only with very large files, nothing is so evident with normal files, even with many layers. It seems that the blocking issue is the pixel size, not the file size.

Additional note, files are 16 bits and ProPhotoRGB. And no, working in 8 bit cannot be done for my workflow. I need 16bit files. Difficult to explain but the processing is totally based on very slight tone differences.

I've installed version 20.0.6 yesterday and after some preliminary testing I'd say that most performance issues have been solved. I'll do some further investigation. I'll post my notes here in the next few days.

After further investigation I can say that NO, 20.0.6 is only slight improvement over 20.0.5. Still ultra slow (try to crop a flat 70000x40000 16bit pixel file and see…). Still instantaneous on 19.1.9, still a pause for a couple of coffees on 20.0.6. Really don't know what to say. It look unbelievable to me that version 20 is so much slower than version 19 with big files. You really don't notice the slowness until you files don't go larger than 30000 pixels or so.

Also transformations are hugely slower (in waiting time before you can even try to transform).

Hope in a resolution, I don't want to be tied to v19 forever.
