I recently downloaded Photoshop CC 2020. I'm impressed with the new Crop Tool with the larger handles. However, I recently helped a friend in Florida update his Photoshop CC2020 and when we go to the Crop Tool on his PC it appears as the old version.
I have looked through preferences and tool settings and don't find anything that would show the new tool look vs the legacy look.
Any suggestions? I'm stumped.
He might have hit the shortcut "P" while cropping and switched it to the legacy crop tool.
You have to be actively cropping an image. Start moving the crop, then press the p key. I did the same thing. Took me awhile to figure out how to use that shortcut.

I tried the shortcut "P" and the Pen Tool appears.

I don't even have the Crop Tool listed in my Tools!

Me either - anyone know how to have it listed in my tools?

Chuckles, you have the perspective crop tool showing. The normal crop tool is under it: click and hold to have the list show up, or select Edit>Tools from the menu to reset the tool bar, or reset all your preferences.

You can find it in the properties panel when you deslect all layers

That is the worst shortcut ever! Not a time saver and leaves me with the same problem in rotating the crop outline - the image moves but the crop outline stays fixed!

I figured it out. Use the little wheel next to the grid choice at the top of the window. Select "classic view" and it all goes back to the original situation!

Maybe you have an workspace that don't have the crop tool on the tool bar.
Try switching your workspace to default.
