Photoshop CC V20 Missing Transform Bounding Box

Hi! I updated my photoshop to the latest version (v20) yesterday. Since then, when I hit cmd + T to free transform a layer, there is no bounding box. I have the "Show Transform Controls" box checked. I have preferences set to show the "reference point location." I realize there are a lot of keyboard shortcut updates, but I can't figure out how to get that bounding box back. Can anyone help?

When you select the object make sure "show transform controls" is selected on the top toolbar. this fixed the problem for me. Hope this helped.

That's it, the simple solution, thanks very much!

Click View, Show, Layer Edges, that should fix it!

And then make sure Show Transform Controls is checked!

I have an idea - we pay enough monthly that these things should be fixed without such a long thread! You removed legacy composition, so, fix it, Adobe! I want my bounding boxes back and I want to be able to keep them on all the time. Now, thank you!

I am having this issue too. The bounding box for type is gone. I cant adjust any type. I tried resetting the preferences and restarting. That did nothing. I created a new doc that it is still happening.

Adding to my workaround for transform box not showing, I started a job in CMYK and couldn't see the text selection hi-lite when text was selected. Opening a dummy RGB document and then deleting it solved the problem.

I created a new doc in RGB and the type box shows up. So we cant create anything in CMYK with text boxes now?? That cant be right?

Opening a new document in color (I've been doing a series of B&W illustrations) has been my workaround since this problem happened in previous updates. Just open any new document in RGB and then close it, and voila, the transform bounding box appears.

thank for this tip! I tried reset preference on quit it worked once but following day bounding box disappears again. changing to RGB indeed returned the bounding box!

Haha... but... when I work with this box, the (item is selected) but and want to pull a reference line from above...
my active 'transformable box' quits??? Okay... rotate the thing... than the rotation has to be apporved befor I can pul a new reference line... That's new! That should not happen.

Thank you... allmost lost faith... since InDesign has a crappy toolbar that desintegrates... while on free float position.
Have to check if it works again... Such things should not happen! Since the first editions to beat Quark... ;-)

But... I got the center pointer working again, quite quickly... most important tool within workflow!

I had the same problem. After deleting the photoshop preferences everything worked again.

(Win: Strg +Alt + Shift; Mac Cmd + Alt + Shift – press directly direkt after clicking the photoshop icon)

annikab27736489 - Did you lose the new features when you did that such as the cmd + z for undo? I hate to lose the new features in the latest version, but without a bounding box I can't use the new version anyway.

No. As far as I checked, all new features are still there. But you will have to rearrange your tools and windows, because  it will be all set back to standard.

I'm having the same issue, since the latest update, instead of a bounding box whenever I try to transform any layer, it just pops a pink circle in the middle of the image, and I can't find any edge of the layer what so ever...Is this somewhat similar to what you are facing klo1986 ? I have yet to find a solution as well.

Yes! The pink circle is the "reference point location" which you can turn off if you prefer to not have it there. It's under Preferences > Tools > (last check box) Show reference point when using transform. I don't mind it, but like you said, I am still missing the bounding box. No solution yet, but continuing to try suggestions! If I find a solution I will definitely post it.
