For the past several weeks, I have encountered a problem when saving a file in Photoshop. If I use the save dialog to navigate to a directory other than the last directory used by Photoshop, the program crashes. Usually navigation up one or more levels works and the crash occures when I attempt to drill down.
The workaround involves using Explorer++ or Q-Dir to navigate to the desired directory, copy the path, and save the file with a fully qualified file name.
(Example: E:\GRAPHICS\Miscellaneous\ComputerSign.psd)
Because this sometimes happens in the Windows File Explorer (but never in Explorer++ or Q-Dir), my conjecture is that Windows is at least partially at fault. But I see the issue only in Photoshop and Photoshop (Beta), which suggests that part of the problem is Adobe's.

The workaround is functional, but annoying, and I hope someone has seen and resolved this issue.

Hey, @TechByter. I'll need more info to help you figure this out. Please share a video of this behavior & the system info from Photoshop Help > System info > Copy & paste into a text document > upload & attach here.
Do you Save your work to using an action/script or just the usual File > Save/Save As method?
Before troubleshooting, update Photoshop to the latest version (v25.9) via the Creative Cloud desktop app & check if the issue exists.
Faulting module path: C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\ntdll.dll
The issue might be linked to the GPU drivers. Please head here to troubleshoot GPU issues for Photoshop: https://adobe.ly/4aOkDa0
If the Drive E is an external drive, it could be possible that Photoshop is having trouble reaching the external drive. Try launching Photoshop as an Administrator & check if that helps.
Let us know how it goes. Thanks!
