Photoshop crashing whenever I create a new file, or import a new image.

Hi All,

As I said in the title, Photoshop crashes for some reason whenever I load an image into it, or start a new project (whenever the GPU is being used I assume). However, in Photoshop, when I disable GPU use, it does not crash anymore. I have a RTX 2080ti and a i9-9900k, and I just installed all of the newest drivers from GeForce Experience. It still crashes when I re-enable GPU, and even after I reset my nvidia settings to factory default.

I have gone through all of the GPU debugging steps with no luck. Can anyone help?

Older drivers don't work either. I have 6 days of trial left, but then my subscription will kick in so I will be able to download previous versions of photoshop. Maybe this will work, but for now I have no idea, and the crash logs are pretty meaningless.

The problem is why is the current version failing if your enable your GPU in Photoshop. Some features require the use of your GPU like 3D support, rotate tool etc. You tried several device drivers for your Nvidia adapter. Nvidia make two version of device drivers for your GTX 2080 the GRD The Game Ready Driver and the SD the Studio Driver. Did you try both drivers. I have a Quadro Nvidia series adapter I always install the Studio version not the new feature version. I figure Photoshop is programmed more for the Professional enterprise users than the gamers.

I would think the Studio drivers will be more stable. Fron the 3/17/2020 date your driver seems like the Gammer driver. The Studio drivet woul be a Jan. or Feb date. 1/xx/2020 or 2/3/2020
