Hello, I finally managed to re create a droplet that works properly. (My old ones would not work or could not connect with photoshop after changing P C etc.
But now I managed to create one that works very well apart the fact it ads a prefix "For Any File" to each of my files Processed!
ie: For any fileIMG20231021202029012021224.JPG
I made it red to be clearer, what follows it is the actual name of the file.
When creating a droplet (Which I don't feel too confident about it) My main problem seems to be when I get to the panel "File Name" . It has 10 fields and I find it confusing with what I should write on them or select.
So I also pick something from the drop down list.
I though I got it right when writing a relevant situation ie: October 24 holiday. Then an order like 3 digits, then picked EXTENSION... And other selections, but you can see my file apart from the prefix has none of them?
The tutorials I looked at did not seem to expand much towards it. So I hope someone can put me on the right track. Thank you in advance .

What version of Windows are you using?
Can you post a screenshot(s) of the Create Droplet dialog and action your using for the droplet?

Please check your post in the browser, the screenshots do not seem to have made it.

The attachments made it!
I was expecting to see the droplet creation window, which is similar in layout to batch.
Anyway, although unfamiliar, I can't see why you are getting that result.
The example that you posted in red and black doesn't match the filename rules in your screenshot.

Now I can see your reply here!
So you can't see the reason why I'm getting this prefix. Anyway thanks for trying š
It's not a big deal though as I use a program "Bulk and rename" so can remove that prefix on the entire folder very simply and quickly.
But I'm sure there is something I did not do right....

This is what I meant:

Yes, I see what you mean. But I don't seem to be able to access the one I used to make the droplet beside the listing under 'Action' I can only see it when I create the droplet.
This is also where I go to edit it. But I can't find this panel...

I just noticed that you're saving to OneDrive, do you get a different result processing to a regular folder? We have seen unexpected behaviour in many areas of Photoshop when cloud sync drives are in play.

This is another confusing things for me. I never quite know when I am in onedrive or my own pc. I don't have this problem with Google Drive.... I'll have to try to figure it out.

I just checked it. You're right I can see the cloud next to the folder. However I just tried another photo and it's the same. (Hm I realise it is still saved in that cloud directory. I would have to create another droplet with an output not in the cloud...)

By @Michelmnr
Yes, that's the only way to rule out a cloud drive messing with expected behaviour, just make sure that the directory is Desktop or Documents and that this isn't being mirrored to a cloud service.

Hi, Stephen, trying to re edit my droplet output folder I got the 'File name panel' I used for it. I got a pic of it and I also join another from the 'edit' to a local folder.
However despite changing the output and restarting Photoshop, the output continue to go to 'PC 1 should be empty' ? And it still has the unwanted prefix.
...Now I can't see the fields to drop my photos, I thought it was below these conversations.

The destination folder for the droplet processing is still using OneDrive in the path.

Oh, I missed that part "The example that you posted in red and black doesn't match the filename rules in your screenshot."
Could you explain to me 'the filename rules' and why it does not match please. I do have trouble to select the right things in that pannel.
As for now, I created another action, and made a droplet out of it using only my local pc. But it won't work.
When I look at my Action History, it's all there and I don't dare deleting anything out of it in fear of what's working will disapear too.

You stated that the result was:
For any fileIMG20231021202029012021224.JPG
However, your droplet settings indicate that you should get something like:

Yes, I saw this too, but I can't understand why. I wonder where I could see a tutorial on using this 'File name' panel. I searched for it but did not find anything in detail about it.
Even the name of my droplet, (over the blue arrow), does not match what I named the Action or Droplet

Strange, I got an email today asking me if my problem was solved. but it seems this is a msg about my latest post which was the latest imput in this thread. (before this one)
"This email is asking me if my problem was solved. It is not. I created a new action and droplet out of it and now this droplet process all my photos I load into it. But only the last one ends up in the folder designated? But now I do not get the unwanted 'prefix' I mentioned as a problem. Just the normal file name with nothing else. (more like I want, save only one file showing up!)" (copied to my reply to the email....'Do not reply'!)
But this is my latest update in the situation.
I'm also having problems to sort out what is what in the 'Action List, as now I have many of them including droplets too...

I think that I know the problem, however, as you haven't posted a screenshot of the action with any save steps expanded and fully visible, nor the Droplet or Batch settings dialog window it's all guesswork.
I believe that what you described is a save step which includes a filename and that your Batch/Droplet settings don't have the "override action save as command" checkbox active.

Thank you for this.
I suppose I should have included. But as stated my Action list is quite long now. Anyway I'll check those steps you mentioned. And also try to post screen shots. Thank you again š

It's only the Save As step that is needed to understand what is taking place when batch is running:

I'm a little confused as I can't see your last reply here.
I seem to understand that you were expecting my droplet to be like the action I sent.
But this is the action I used to create a droplet out of it....
