Photoshop CS5 won't display open images in window

.

Hi guys,

Sorry for being such an amateur, I don't use Photoshop very often.

From time to time I get this annoying problem trying to open images in Photoshop.

It'll happen for a week or

The image is obviously opened, but isn't appearing in the window.

Can someone please tell me how to fix it?

Thanks in advance,

Greg

Try resetting your Photoshop preferences.

Thank you for the response Derek.

Typically, I started it up this morning and it's fine. It's displaying the images no problem!

I'd changed nothing at that stage.

I'm sure I've tried resetting preferences before with no luck, but I just did it again anyway. (ie. after firing it up and finding it working perfectly.)

I think I even tried uninstalling it once and re-installing it from the original CD.

It's been happening on and off for a few years now.

The weird thing is that as far as I know I change nothing in regard to image display at all, apart from using "Actual Pixels" and the zoom function a little once in a while. I wouldn't know how to do any other changes!

Thanks again,

Greg

Does going to Preferences > Performance, unchecking Use Graphics Processor and then restarting Photoshop solve the problem?

Hi Norman,

I couldn't see Use Graphics Processor amongst the options in there.

BTW, it's CS5.5 I have, not CS5 as I had previously stated.

In Preferences > Performance you will see Enable Open GL Drawing. It is checked.

Below it is Advanced Settings. Confirm it is set to Basic.

Then uncheck Enable Open GL Drawing

Restart Phototoshop

If it does not solve the problem return to Enable Open GL Drawing and recheckmark it.

Ah, ok, gotcha!

Thanks.

I'll give it a shot.
