Photoshop CS6 serial number issue

I bought Photoshop CS6 for Mac in 2012, I installed it in my iMac, it runs fine. Recently I bought a new MBP, I tried to install it on the MBP.  After running the install program, it prompts for the serial number with 6 empty boxes, i.e. the serial number is in 6 characters.  However, the serial number that printed on my box is in the format of xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx. As a result, there is no way for me to install PS CS6.

Please help me out!

Each box holds a maximum of 4 digits, not one. Have you tried it?

My serial number is printed on the small box inside the package box with something like:

1xxx-0xxx-7xxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx

I really don't know what to enter???

I think I may enter it incorrectly, after enter the 1st digit, I press "tab" to move to another field, I'll try it again tomorrow,

The serial number entry screen is set up that you simply type the first group of 4 numbers and it will jump to the next entry box

If you see a green checkmark after filling all six fields, you are good to go.

That is the correct format... a serial number is 6 groups of 4 numbers

When you input the numbers it should look something like this

Just start typing, it'll work out just fine 🙂

if problem continues you might have a number that not correct. check with Tech support.

But first try the suggestions to type  numbers as 4 at a time!!!

That serial must have worked for you back in 2012 you have been using the install it activated on you machine.

If you have install a trial of CC on you machine you may have a provle.  CC broke my Windows Perpetual CS6 install.  I had insall CS6 on top of the broken version to fix it which back leveled it to Version 13.0 which was able to be updated to version 13.1.2  the Creative cloud version of CS6.   The Perpetual CS6 Mac version should update to version 13.0.6 the Windows CS6 perpetual version  is version 13.0.1.3.  Ther a three versions of CS6....
