Photoshop displays transparent edge around document that has no transparency

Photoshop is displaying a 1 pixel transparent line around the edge of my document, even though the document has no transparency. Zooming the document to different magnifications makes the transparent edge either disappear or return or randomly shift to a different edge. This seems to be related to GPU acceleration as turning "Use Graphics Processor" off makes the transparency disappear.

I have included a couple of screenshots showing a simple document with just a flat black background layer. At 100% maginification the edge is present. At 200% the edge is no longer there.

Photoshop 21.1.3

Windows 10

Nvidia RTX 2070 Super

Nvidia Driver 442.92

This quirk I never seemed to notice much until recently. Seems like it's just an annoying interface issue however, if you're fine converting your work to an Artboard you can eliminate the visual distraction.

Select all layers, from the Layers Panel Menu (patty stack in right corner at top of the Layers Panel) select Artboard from Layers...

The secret is in the Properties Panel for the Artboard. If it's not already open you can see that on screen by going to the file menu --> Window / Properties.

Switch Artboard background color to anything other than Transparent.

This is a bit bothersome if you're not wanting to work in Artboards however, there are some advantages to this workflow, especially if you are needing to export an example of your work to email off for client review on the regular and haven't yet adopted the Review workflow.

I would recommend reading up on File / Generate / Image Assets if it's not already on your radar. You'll always be rendering the current state of your artboard to an Image Assets in the format of your choice–PNG or JPG.

Attaching screenshots of the Artboard before and after the appropriate selection in Properties described above.

Did you find any workaround for this?

This has been such a pain point for me since my work invovles a lot of zooming and manually editing pixels around edges. It only happens when I use gpu acceleration AND work on indexed color mode (which is the default mode for png files).

It there transparency when you view the actual image? Zoom 100%. At any other zoom you are not viewing the actual image.
