Participant ,

Hi, as mentioned, Photoshop 21.2 has a corrupted taskbar icon, even after re-installation.
Anyone else having this?

The taskbar icon is a shortcut.

  • Delete the icon from the taskbar
  • Start to type "Photoshop" in the Start menu
  • Right-click "Photoshop" when it appears in list and pin it to the taskbar to create a new icon

Jane,

I tried your solution but bug/issue persists. Thanks for trying though.

Hi

When you launch Photoshop directly from the Start menu, does it:

  • create a new icon for PS in the task bar that disappears when you quit Photoshop
    or
  • use the corrupt icon that is already in the taskbar?

It uses the corrupt icon already in the taskbar

Same problem here...I've unpinned it numerous times and re-installed PS too.  No change.

I've had the same problem since the 2020 version, and I'm disappointed to see it persists in the 2021 version.

I had the same problem with Photoshop CC 21(22.0.0 release) I installed on a new computer just now

This solution worked for me:

  1. Unpin the icon from taskbar
  2. If you don’t have a shortcut to Photoshop on the desktop create one
  3. Right click the Photoshop shortcut on the desktop and chose “Properties“
  4. Chose “change Icon” and change it to a different icon
  5. Drag the shortcut to the task bar
  6. Unpin the shortcut from the taskbar
  7. Change the icon back to the original icon and drag it back to the taskbar. In details:
    • Right click the Photoshop shortcut on the desktop and chose “Properties“
    • Chose “change Icon” and change it to the original icon
    • Drag the shortcut to the task bar

Glad to help.

Unfortunately for me the problem came back after few hours. So I changed the Icon to one of the other photoshop icons and this looks like it is OK.

I think that if we will edit the photoshop Icon and made a minute change and save it as a new Icon it will solve the problem, but I didn't feel the drive to do so.
