Photoshop is unable to find the JavaScript plug-in

Using PS 2025 and playing with the new features. When I try to use generative expand, I get this error:

"Could not complete your request because Photoshop was unable to find the JavaScript plug-in."

Seems a bit messed that PS can't complete a new feature task. Has anyone else come across this or know how to fix it?

Is Photoshop 2025 running under Rosetta?

You can check by going to Applications/Adobe Photoshop 2025

right clicking on the Adobe Photoshop 2025.app

then clicking Get Info and see if Open using Rosetta is checked.

If it is, uncheck it, then try the Generative Expand.

I was opening it with Rosetta to use a plugin. I was going that because I was getting that same error if I didn't. But I've got back to having it open normally and am getting that error.

Leave Open using Rosetta unchecked and reset the Photoshop preferences and see if that solves the issue.

Opening using Rosetta is when the issue happens for me. The trouble is, I need to open using Rosetta to use a legacy extension.

martym,

Because of a bug in Photoshop 2025 (ps ver 26.0), if you switch between Rossetta and Native you'll have to reset the Photoshop preferences everytime you do.

Hello Everyone,

First of all please accept our sincere apologies for the troubles you are having, secondly

  1. Open PS in Rosetta for the AEM plugin to work.
  2. This is a bug in versions 25.12 and 26.0
  3. We are working on a new update to address the issue, unfortunately, I can't share the release date, but this will soon be addressed.
  4. As a workaround, install an older version say, 25.9.1

    Regards
    Rohit Pandita
