Photoshop issue or Mac issue? Searching for documents brings up generic icons.

Hello, I've had this issue through the last 2 updates to Photoshop and my Mac system. Right now, I'm in the IOS Sequoia 15.1.1 world of Mac systems. Whenever I search through the Photoshop program for a previous document to open it, I get a long list of generic icons whereupon I can never tell which image I'm looking for. Sometimes, oddly, if I run my cursor across the icons, the images reveal themselves, sometimes not. There is no correct preview image so I need to keep opening documents until I can see which one is the one I need. Does anyone else recognize this issue and can help me fix it? Below, is a screen grab of what I see when I'm looking for a Photoshop image in one of my folders. Any directions beside pulling out my hair? Not sure if it's a quirk from Photoshop or Apple (or a combo).

Hi @eugene525, I was not able to recreate this issue in Photoshop on a Mac, but the Finder may have a corrupted cache related to icon previews that are preventing the display of your project image. Please try clearing your cache by deleting the "https://adobe.ly/41fsH0p.finder" cache file in your Library folder. Hope this helps! ^CH

On Windows, you can set the view in the folder options. This should work in a similar way on the Mac.

Hello, While I appreciate the assistance, viewing folders and their contents is not the issue I'm having. It's when I search for documents through Photoshop, that the icons are generic. Mac's folder viewing option displays the correct icons. The image I sent with the above note is when I press "Open" while in Photoshop to find an image or document. The window that opens when I search for a document in Photoshop shows only generic icons. I'm hoping that explains it better. A year ago, this never happened.

P.S.  Another part of the oddity is, when the search window has opened, if I click on the scroll named "Enable: All Readable Document" the icons turn to correct images. But, only then. Below is the scroll I mean. Again, this is the window that opens when I am searching for a document by clicking on Open while in Photoshop. Fingers crossed.

Still here, after all these years!

Hello all, I'm going to try this query again. The problem still exists. Thanks but the response from Pixxxxel did not address it. I'm in Sequoia 15.3.1.

When I'm in Photoshop on my iMac, if I want to open a previous document (Command + O), the search window only displays generic icons. So, I am forced to guess which file I'm looking for. There are times when I repeat this action and the icons are correct. Most often, Not. What could my CC Photoshop or Mac be having trouble with? Any new guesses? Please save me.  The below image is an example of what I get when I punch in Command +O to open another (or new) document while in Photoshop (the latest version).  Thank you, Eugene525

I wanted this to work, and it did for a while, but the problem returned. Not sure where to go from here.

@eugene525 would it be feasible to open image file from Bridge, where you'd have a preview?
