Photoshop Keeps Directing Document Saves to Creative Cloud

The recent Photoshop update tries to force (or at the least, coerce) users into saving all documents to Creative Cloud. While that might be your thing, it certainly isn’t mine. Fine...there should be an option in Preferences to allow me to set my default save destination to my computer or the cloud. But noooo... I must add another step to my work flow every time I save a file because Adobe wants to “nudge” everyone to use their cloud service.

Um...no, thank you. I work offline and in remote locations quite a bit where there is no connectivity. Furthermore, I don’t live in some metro area where I have super-fast, zippity doo dah, mega-giga Internet speed. So, using the cloud service would not be a plus for me, but a hindrance. Nevertheless, I must deal with that aggravating, annoying pop-up trying to drive me to save to the cloud...EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.

How about letting the user choose where to save files once and be done with it? Now that would be an upgrade!

Also, why did Adobe mess around with the “Save As” option. My high-volume work requires saving as JPGs. Can’t do that anymore. Now I have to use “Save a Copy” to save a JPG. A minor thing, perhaps, but why change this?

Sometimes, change for the sake of change is not a product upgrade or enhancement.

Maybe his screenshot is taken from some older Ps release or else iPad?

No you don't - just tick choose "Save on your computer" but first check "Don't show again"

As for the Save As changes, if you don't like them, go to Preferences >File Handling and check "Enable Legacy Save As"
